FAQS

Questions, answered gently

Everything you might be wondering before reaching out. If your question isn't here, just ask.

What kind of therapy do you offer?

I offer virtual psychotherapy for adults (18+) across Ontario. My work is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to you. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including person-centred, somatic, ACT, and emotion-focused therapies, depending on what feels most helpful for your goals.

What is somatic-focused psychotherapy?

Somatic therapy recognizes that our experiences affect both our minds and our bodies. Together, we may explore physical sensations, nervous system responses, and patterns that show up alongside thoughts and emotions. We'll only use these approaches if they feel comfortable and helpful for you.

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you'd like support with, and any questions you have about the process. There's no pressure to share everything right away. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable.

Do you have experience working with Queer-identified or BIPOC clients?

Yes. I work with people from many different backgrounds and identities, and I'm committed to providing an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive space. I recognize that every person's experiences are unique, and I approach each therapeutic relationship with curiosity, respect, and humility.

What payments do you accept?

I accept e-transfer and credit card payments through Jane. Payment is due at the end of each session, and you'll receive a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider if applicable.

What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly ask for at least 72 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 72 hours' notice are charged the full session fee, except in the case of emergencies.

Can I claim sessions through my insurance?

Many extended health benefits plans cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Coverage varies by provider, so I recommend checking with your insurance company before your first appointment. While I don't offer direct billing, you'll receive a receipt after each session for reimbursement.

How much do sessions cost?

Individual psychotherapy is $150 for a 50-minute session.

What happens after I reach out?

I'll get back to you as soon as I can to arrange a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly chat, answer any questions, and see whether we're a good fit before booking your first appointment.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

If you're looking for a therapist who is warm, collaborative, and practical, we may be a good fit. I work best with people who want to better understand themselves while also building tools that support everyday life. The free consultation is a chance for us to meet, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit for both of us.
